In Tuscany, in the heart of Mugello, we offer for Sale an ancient medieval tower (14th century) converted into a mill. It stands on the river Ensa, on a picturesque waterfall, immersed in the Tuscan countryside, just a few km from Borgo San Lorenzo, in the province of Florence.
The Estate consists of more properties: the mill, the private chapel, the barn, the stable, the warehouse, the kennel. A large agricultural property completes the offer with 46 acres of land: olive grove, chestnut grove (13 ha), 14 ha of arable land and 1.5 ha of pasture, as well as a beautiful garden with a swimming pool in stone powered directly by the river.
The mill was owned by the family of realist painter Pietro Annigoni, known since years '50 for his portraits of famous people like Queen Elizabeth II in 1949, or John F. Kennedy, Pope John XXIII, his use of techniques Renaissance such as tempera grasse and his mastery of the fresco.
The picturesque and idyllic setting is enriched within finishes, antique and original details: on the ground floor is still present the room with the millstones of the mill and the stone floor. The fixtures are made of chestnut wood, thresholds and door , window frames in sandstone.
Beside the millstones room there is a stay with a fireplace and a window from which you can admire the view of the river Ensa that runs through the entire property, and a bathroom. A wooden staircase leads to the first floor where there is a living room and kitchen, with the cowl cover carved in stone. A bedroom, a study and a bathroom complete the floor. The attic is accessed by a staircase always made of solid wood, where we find a small living room, a kitchen. one bedroom and one bathroom. The roof was restored by inserting a copper below the tiles to avoid any water infiltration.
In well 4 insist waterfalls that can be used to produce up to 60KWh of electricity.
